Power Plant Simulation Technology

Solution Profile

ADTech has the expertise and long time experience in power plant simulation. ADTech served as the consultant to Taipower Fossil Training Center helping Taipower to maintain and upgrade four (4) coal-oil fired Fossil Simulators and one Combined Cycle Simulator.

ADTech is supporting General Electric (GE), ABB and SAIC in Taiwan to upgrade the nuclear simulators to match modifications of plant systems, such as Neutron Monitoring System, Turbine Control System, Plant Computer System, etc.

ADTech is one of the few companies in the world that has the capability and experience to implement a full scope simulator for an Advanced Light Water Reactor (ALWR). Recently ADTech has delivered an Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) Full Scope Simulator (FSS). The FSS is used by Taipower in the Lungmen Project. The FSS is considered to be the most complicated simulator ever built in Taiwan. Various kinds of state-of-the-art simulation technologies are being used. This project has been an international cooperation effort. The work location was originally at GE’s facility in San Jose, California, U.S.A. and subsequently moved to Taipower's Lungmen Training Center in Taiwan.

The scope of the Lungmen ABWR FSS includes a vast range of operation data and various special features of the ABWR, such as:

  • Over 100 nuclear power plant systems
  • Over 2000 logic diagrams
